The melting point of a substance refers to the temperature at which the substance changes from a solid state to a liquid state.
In the field of organic chemistry, the determination of the melting point is the basis for identifying the nature of the substance, and it is also one of the important methods for determining the purity.
Prep: Lipstick Samples
1) Pre-treatment of the sample:
First, preheat the instrument, put an appropriate amount of water in the large-diameter capillary into the furnace body for preheating,
and then insert the lipstick paste with a double-opening capillary to sample and fill it, 3~5mm is appropriate (generally refers to The height of the sample after melting),
the material is put into the cup and melted in the air for testing.
When the lipstick is about 40-50 degrees Celsius, it begins to melt. If the lipstick is in a high temperature condition for a long time,
it will slowly become liquefied, and the shape of the lipstick will change greatly.
There is no way to use it. So in normal times, you must put your lipstick well, and don't put lipstick in a place where the temperature is very high.
For example, in summer, don't put it in the car. The temperature in the car is very high, and the lipstick is particularly easy to liquefy.
